In exchange for getting all criminal charges dropped in his July assault case, Compton rapper The Game has agreed to begin taking anger-management sessions.
According to TMZ, the Black Wall Street leader was present at a court hearing Tuesday (September 30) where he faced battery charges for allegedly assaulting a relative during his cousin’s funeral last July. Avoiding time behind bars, Game is now required to serve a minimum of 36 anger-management meetings before February 2009.
As previously reported by SOHH, an altercation broke out during the family funeral over money, leading to a police report being filed against the rapper by his cousin Robert “Kirky” Kirkwood.
“When I see him, I shake his hand and I go sit down and tell him I love him,” Game previously told “The Nutz in the Morning” radio show. “And then after the funeral, you know he’s a pallbearer. He’s supposed to be carrying my cousin to the hearse and getting her to the cemetery so she can go in the ground but he coming at me, pulling at me, and the first thing he said was ‘Eh homie, what’s up with that cheese.’ And I’m like ‘What, what’s up with that cheese’ and then he like ‘You The Game, right. You supposed to be big rapper, why you ain’t pay for the whole funeral, cuz?’”
Game then said his cousin became upset once he explained he had his own family to take care of which led to Kirkland pushing him. The rapper justified punching him as a defense and claims the entire family joined the fight.
